2004 CHS GRANT AWARDS
The CHS Grants Program
The CHS Grants Committee is pleased to announce the CHS grants recipients for
2004. The committee consisted of Stephen Barten, Mike Dloogatch and Lori
King This year we received 21 applications. After a difficult
decision process, five grants were awarded, in varying amounts, as
follows:
- Amy Cunkelman, Department of Biology, Villanova University.
- "Radio Telemetry to Examine Habitat Utilization in Rhacodactylus
leachianus and Rhacodactylus trachyrhynchus". Awarded
$500.00.
- Karen Davis, University
of Tennessee.
- "Numerical Discrimination and Cognitive Abilities in Turtles (Pseudemys
nelsoni)". Awarded $500.
- Timothy Hunkapiller, Illinois Natural History Survey.
- "Reproductive Ecology of the Wood Frog (Rana sylvatica)". Awarded
$317.20.
- Deb Krohn, Plum Creek Nature Center, Forest Preserve
District of Will County.
- "Skeletal Herpetological Specimens for Student Educational Programs". Awarded
$452.00.
- Michael Malawy, School of Life Sciences, Arizona State University.
- "An Investigation into Selected Body Temperature and Post-Prandial
responses of the Western Diamand-backed Rattlesnake, (Crotalus atrox)". Awarded
$500.00.
